Ram Trx Orange - Most monster trucks are limited to arenas and indoor courts, but the 2022 Ram 1500 TRX is something you can unleash on public roads. Essentially a regular Ram 1500 on steroids, the redesigned TRX is dramatically wider and features a supercharged V-8 that makes 702 horsepower. Sure, there are more powerful models that power the Hellcat, but no other stock lifter seems to be able to eat a pack of monsters while hitting 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. The 450-hp Ford F-150 Raptor is the TRX's only real challenger, but the fight isn't fair until the 700-plus-hp Raptor R arrives. Still, it has to contend with the Ram's ridiculously luxurious interior and exceptional road manners, which helped earn it a 10 Best Award and a spot on our Editors' List. Actions are worth it, as maneuvering in traffic or parking spaces can be anxiety-inducing, and frequent refueling will become routine. Again, no one said being a monster was easy.

For 2022, Ram is introducing a new limited edition Ignition Edition to the TRX lineup. With only 875 examples expected to hit the road, the TRX is even easier to recognize thanks to its unique bright orange color. Black 18-inch wheels with special bedside graphics and machined surfaces are also part of the package. On the inside, orange and copper accents are also seen on the floor mats, center console badge and contrast stitching throughout the cabin. Wondering how much this awesome pumpkin style pickup costs? They start at $93,280, but come fully loaded with features like ventilated front and rear seats, a leather and microsuede-wrapped steering wheel, and more. The $100,080 Sandblast Edition is also new for 2022 and offers all-wheel drive. - Equipped with Level 2 Equipment Package and Sport Exclusive Mojave Sand color and exclusive 18-inch wheels.

Although the TRX starts at $74,000, it's a lot of truck for the money. While the base version is certainly well-equipped, it lacks some of the features you'd expect as standard. For example, a heated steering wheel and heated front seats are optional, but otherwise only available with the Level 1 package. That brings its price closer to $78K, but brings a lot of upgrades. Highlights include leather seats, cargo area lighting, flat-bottom steering wheel wrapped in leather and microsuede, storage compartment under the rear seat and more. We'll use that option, as well as a trailer-tow package, to increase the truck's towing capacity.
A supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V-8 hides in the TRX's bulging fenders and under the hood. More popular than the Hellcat engine, this particular version produces 702 horsepower and 650 Nft of torque, sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. During our testing, the TRX sprinted to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds and completed the quarter mile in 12.3 seconds at 110 mph. This makes it the fastest upload we've ever tested. Despite its high curb weight and huge footprint, the Hellcat-capable Ram is surprisingly smooth and easy to handle on paved roads. Still, its supercharged V-8 is ready to make a thrilling sound from its tailpipes. Of course, the TRX is also meant to be played in mud, rocks and sand. With a reinforced steel frame, it has a beefed-up suspension that's built to flex and bind with more than 13 inches of travel. It rolls on a set of huge 35-inch all-terrain tires mounted on 18-inch wheels that contribute to the truck's 11.8 inches of ground clearance. Ram says the half-ton Hellcat can overcome 12 inches of water. Every TRX is equipped with an undercarriage cover big enough to protect Brink's truck, Bilstein remote reservoir shocks, an electronic locking rear differential and huge 15.0-inch front brakes. what else
While the TRX can't tow as much as some RAM models currently rated up to 12,750 pounds, it can still tow a decent amount. It has a maximum towing capacity of 8,100 pounds (100 less than the F-150 Raptor) and can carry 1,310 pounds of cargo (80 less than the Ford).
The TRX is estimated to get a low 10 mpg in the city and 14 mpg on the highway. Those numbers are significantly lower than the Raptor, which is rated at 15 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway. We tested the TRX on our fuel-efficient 75-mph route, part of our extensive testing regimen, and observed a low 13 mpg on the highway. Ram has redefined expectations for truck interiors with its latest half-ton pickup, which offers rich-looking materials and impeccable isolation from outside noise. This level of luxury and refinement looks set to continue with the TRX, which is only available as a crew cab with a small cargo bed. The interior of the base model is based on the upholstery and standard equipment of the Ram 1500 Rebel. However, the optional TR1 and TR2 packages make the cabin more stylish thanks to leather surfaces and a mix of microsuede and carbon fiber accents. The flat-bottomed TRX steering wheel features a pair of prominent shift paddles and a floor shifter on the center console. Top options on the TRX include a digital rearview mirror, head-up display and heated and ventilated front seats.
Every TRX has a vertical 12.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the center of the dashboard. The unit features Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, built-in navigation and SiriusXM satellite radio. The screen can be split into separate menus so you can open multiple apps at once and also features physical buttons and buttons on the bezel around the screen for more intuitive controls. The truck can also have a powerful 900-watt Harman Kardon sound system with 19 speakers.

The all-new Ram 1500 TRX Ignition Edition 2022 (trade code TRX) follows in the footsteps of last year's TRX Launch Edition. Presented in an Ignition Orange exterior color, the TRX stands out from the rest of the TRX range and is sure to turn heads. Based on the Premium TR Level 2 trim package, the Ignition Edition features new 18-inch machine-faced black wheels, special exterior graphics, cargo mounts, a spray-on bed liner and Mopar bed steps.
The interior of the Ignition Edition includes copperhead orange stitching and an embroidered TRX logo on the seatback. An orange badge on the center console, a copper carbon fiber accent package and special orange tweeters highlight the interior color scheme. The 12-inch infotainment touchscreen now supports the much faster Uconnect 5 software. The package includes a heads-up display (HUD), a panoramic sunroof, and Mopar all-weather airbags with an orange Ram Head logo instead of the traditional red. An optional Pedestrian Emergency Braking feature is standard in the Ignition package.
Ignition Orange was previously featured on the limited edition 2017 Ram 1500 Sport and 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Express. The Ram 1500 TRX Ignition Edition has a US MSRP starting at $91,585 and $1,695 destination. For Canadians, the Ignition Edition has a starting Canadian MSRP of $125,075 plus a $2,795 destination charge.
Note that RAM will only produce 875 units for the US and 100 units for Canada of the Ignition Edition.
