What makes the Glock Switch so dangerous, officials say, is the gun's modified rate of fire and its inaccuracy. Even trained ATF agents struggle to depress the coil of a Glock when fired from the switch.

The ATF gave News4 Investigates a closer look at the modifier in action. It took a semi-automatic Glock 19 just under three seconds to fire 15 rounds. After adjusting the automatic switch, the same weapon fired the same number of rounds in approximately one second.
Impd: More People Are Turning Handguns Into 'machine Guns'
The ATF stated that the weapon's speed also makes it very difficult to control, and is therefore incorrect.
"People are more likely to be injured or killed than targets of gun violence," French said.
ATF said it has seized 79 switches in Tennessee over the past five years. However, he believes there could be many more, as law enforcement agencies may not be able to identify the lethal ingredient, especially if it is not attached to the weapon.
"We are in a training mode to teach not only the public, but also our law enforcement counterparts," French said.
